BlemishBuddy respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have when using BlemishBuddy.

BlemishBuddy is designed to help young people learn about their skin, build healthy skincare habits, and feel more confident. BlemishBuddy provides educational and wellness information and is not a medical service.

1. Information We May Collect

Depending on how you use BlemishBuddy, we may process:

• Account and profile information, including name, email address, profile picture, and information you choose to add.
• Skin check-ins, breakout logs, routine information, and products you choose to save or track.
• Messages and conversations you have with BlemishBuddy.
• Photos you voluntarily upload for supported skin-related features.
• AI-generated analysis or guidance associated with information you submit.
• App activity needed to operate routines, streaks, badges, reminders, and progress tracking.
• Basic technical information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Please do not submit information that you do not want BlemishBuddy to process.

2. Skin Photos

If you choose to upload a skin photo, it may be processed to provide the feature you requested. Skin-photo features are for educational and skincare guidance purposes only. BlemishBuddy does not use a skin photo to diagnose acne, skin disease, or any other medical condition. Do not upload photographs of another person without their permission.

3. Personal Check-Ins and Reflections

Personal check-ins, skin observations, and reflections are intended to be private to your account unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise and you actively choose to share something. We do not intentionally publish private check-in thoughts as community content.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to provide and operate BlemishBuddy; personalize your experience; provide skincare education and routine guidance; process requested AI-supported features; save routines, progress, streaks, badges, and preferences; send enabled reminders or service communications; maintain security; prevent misuse; diagnose technical problems; and improve BlemishBuddy. We do not sell your personal information.

5. AI Features

BlemishBuddy may use artificial intelligence for educational explanations, suggestions, coaching, or analysis. Information submitted to an AI-powered feature may be processed by technology providers that help us provide that feature. AI responses can be inaccurate and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never rely on BlemishBuddy for an emergency or to diagnose a medical condition. For skin or health concerns, talk to a parent, guardian, pharmacist, doctor, dermatologist, or another qualified healthcare professional.

6. Young Users

Users must be at least 13 years old to use the personalized BlemishBuddy service. In countries where the digital-consent age is higher, that higher requirement applies. If you cannot lawfully provide the required consent without a parent or guardian, do not create or use a personalized account unless and until BlemishBuddy provides an appropriate consent process. BlemishBuddy currently provides no parental-consent process for users below the applicable age.

We do not ask for a full date of birth solely to verify the 13+ requirement; users confirm the applicable age requirement during onboarding. We aim to make privacy, AI, and skin-photo information accessible to young users. Young users should avoid sharing unnecessary personal information, and parents and guardians are encouraged to help them use online services safely and responsibly.

7. How We Share Information

Trusted providers may help us with hosting and cloud infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, security, analytics where enabled, and AI functionality and processing. They may process information only as necessary to provide services to us, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements. We may also disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users’ or the service’s security and rights.

8. International Processing

Technology providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy, to provide the service, or to meet legitimate legal requirements. Categories may have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, we aim to delete or anonymize it.

10. Deleting Your Data

BlemishBuddy provides controls for deleting user data. On request, information associated with your account will be deleted or anonymized where required, except where we have a lawful reason or obligation to retain limited information. We are committed to ensuring a deletion request covers the personal information the app says it will delete.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, request a portable copy, and complain to a local data protection authority. For EU/EEA users, these rights arise under the GDPR where applicable.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. Access to private user information should be limited to the user concerned and authorized systems or personnel where necessary. No online service can guarantee absolute security; protect your account credentials.

13. Cookies and Similar Technologies

BlemishBuddy may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and operation. Where non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking requires consent, it should not be activated until required consent is obtained. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BlemishBuddy develops. Material changes update the date above and, where appropriate, receive additional notice.
